1. Ensure the shotgun is unloaded and always pointed in a safe direction. 2. Open the action and place the shotgun on its side with the ejection port facing upwards. 3. Remove the #8-32 thread screw on the opposite side of the ejection port. 4. Then replace the removed screw with the longer #8-32 screw. 5. Now use the supplied #10-32 screw with washer to push out the pin (located just above the trigger).
Leave the screw in the hole and turn the shotgun over. 6. Remove the six flat head screws from the side saddle to expose the counter-bored holes in the mounting plate. 7. Place the mounting plate onto the receiver with the counter-bored hole on the #8-32 screw and the tapped hole on the #10-32 screw.
Note: there are two counter-bored holes, the closest to the muzzle is for the 590DA, and the closest to the buttstock would be for the 500 and standard 590.
Lightly tighten the #10-32 screw but do not overtighten, as overtightening may lock up the shotguns action, if so then simply loosen the screws slightly.
Place the supplied nut on the #8-32 screw and tighten.
8. Replace the ammo holder onto the mounting plate and tighten the six fixing screws.
Please Note: some field grade shotguns may require modification to the forend.
